What is One-Touch Opening/Closing?

One-touch opening/closing is one of the most essential features of an exhibition control system. Through preset scenes, operators can automatically execute multiple device control commands in sequence with just one button click, achieving:

  • One-touch opening: Sequentially turn on lights, projectors, audio systems, etc., preparing for visitors

  • One-touch closing: Safely shut down all devices in proper order, saving energy and protecting equipment

Traditionally, opening an exhibition hall might require operating 10-20 devices individually, taking 20-30 minutes. With SoftControl's one-touch opening feature, the entire process takes just 1 minute!

How It Works

SoftControl's one-touch opening/closing function is based on scene control:

  • Create a Scene: Combine multiple device control commands into one scene

  • Set Delays: Configure execution delays for each command to ensure devices start in sequence

  • Bind to Button: Link the scene to a button on the control interface

  • One-Touch Execution: Click the button to automatically execute all commands in the scene

Detailed Configuration Steps

Step 1: Plan the Opening Procedure

Before configuration, plan the devices to control and their sequence. Here's a typical opening procedure:

OrderDeviceOperationRecommended Delay
1Main PowerTurn On0s
2Lighting ControllerTurn On All Lights2s
3Air ConditionerTurn On & Set Temperature3s
4Projector 1Power On5s
5Projector 2Power On6s
6Audio SystemTurn On10s
7Motorized ScreenLower12s
8Background MusicPlay15s

Step 2: Configure Devices and Commands

In SoftControl, first configure the control commands for each device:

  • Open SoftControl and enter Edit Mode

  • In Command Management, add control commands for each device

  • Set the correct protocol parameters for each command (serial, network, or infrared)

For example, configuring a projector power-on command:

  • Command Name: Projector1-PowerOn

  • Protocol Type: RS232

  • Port: COM1

  • Baud Rate: 9600

  • Command Content: (Fill in according to projector model)

Step 3: Create the Opening Scene

  • In Edit Mode, select or create a button

  • In the Properties Panel, set the button action type to Scene Control

  • Add commands to the scene:

  • Select "MainPower-On", delay 0ms

  • Select "Lights-AllOn", delay 2000ms

  • Select "AC-TurnOn", delay 3000ms

  • Select "Projector1-PowerOn", delay 5000ms

  • Continue adding other commands...

  • Save the configuration

Step 4: Create the Closing Scene

The closing sequence is usually the reverse of opening, with special considerations:

  • Turn off audio/video equipment before lights

  • Projectors need to standby first (fan cooling) before power off

  • Ensure all devices are safely shut down before cutting main power

Typical closing procedure:

OrderDeviceOperationRecommended Delay
1Background MusicStop0s
2Motorized ScreenRaise2s
3Audio SystemTurn Off5s
4Projector 1Power Off8s
5Projector 2Power Off10s
6Air ConditionerTurn Off60s (wait for projector cooling)
7Lighting ControllerTurn Off65s
8Main PowerTurn Off70s

Step 5: Design the Control Interface

For convenient operation, place opening/closing buttons prominently on the control interface:

  • Use large buttons for quick access

  • Use different colors to distinguish (e.g., green = opening, red = closing)

  • Add confirmation prompts to prevent accidental operation

Advanced Tips

1. Add Status Feedback

During scene execution, add status displays so operators know the current progress:

  • Turning on lights...

  • Starting projectors...

  • Opening complete!

2. Combine with Scheduled Tasks

SoftControl supports scheduled tasks, allowing you to set:

  • Auto-execute opening scene at 8:30 AM daily

  • Auto-execute closing scene at 6:00 PM daily

  • Use special schedules for holidays

3. Zone Control

Large exhibition halls can set up multiple scenes:

  • One-touch open entire hall

  • One-touch open Zone A

  • One-touch open Zone B

  • Partial opening (only essential areas)

4. Emergency Mode

Configure emergency scenes such as:

  • Emergency shutdown of all projectors (equipment protection)

  • Quick activation of all lights (safety evacuation)

FAQ

Q: Can scene execution be interrupted?

Yes. In SoftControl, you can click the stop button anytime to interrupt the current scene execution.

Q: What if a device doesn't respond?

We recommend adding appropriate delays in scenes to ensure devices have enough time to respond. If a device persistently doesn't respond, check the connection and command configuration.

Q: How much delay should I set?

This depends on device response speed. Projector startup typically takes longer (30 seconds to 2 minutes), while light switches are very fast (within 1 second). Adjust based on your actual devices.

Q: Can I modify a created scene?

Yes. Enter Edit Mode, select the corresponding button, and you can modify commands, order, and delays in the scene.
